Managing marketing for a bank or credit union used to be a lot simpler than it is today. Back then, you might run a few campaigns every year across a handful of media — print ads, billboards, direct mail, TV and radio.

These days, marketing has become much more complex. There are multiple audience segments and a myriad of media options; the number of messages and channels to manage has grown exponentially — online ads, social media, retargeting, email, search engines, etc.

It wasn’t that long ago when the number of tools in the financial marketer’s toolbox were fairly limited. But with the explosion of new media options, bank and credit union marketing execs have increasingly found themselves administering dozens of different messaging platforms. Today’s marketer needs to have expertise with content management systems (CMS) designed for nearly everything they do — email marketing, social media posts, blogs, website updates… It’s a lot to manage.

Over the years, the pace of technological change has exceeded our ability to keep up. We’ve been bolting one system on top of another for nearly two decades. We seldom the time to stop and look for opportunities to create efficiencies — “Do I really need to log into five separate platforms to schedule this campaign?”

Marketers are overwhelmed by these sprawling patchworks of different, disconnected messaging systems. It’s inefficient and ineffective.

a software company that provides proprietary digital signage, interactive kiosk, music and messaging products, is looking to simplify the financial marketer’s dilemma with disparate messaging systems. They have developed a solution consolidating four major messaging tools into one simple login.

The latest iteration of their messaging platform puts the controls for digital in-branch signage, on-hold messaging, interactive touchscreen kiosks and overhead music all under one unified system.

Codigo says its solution was designed to reduce the total cost of ownership for these types of systems by converging multiple messaging platforms under one umbrella, with one simple interface.

The new software is the culmination of a multi-year development effort that includes a revolutionary browser-based HTML5 editor, increased scheduling flexibility, a higher level of performance for complex installations and player support for Android, Linux and Windows operating systems.

“Two years ago, we saw a need for the consolidation of multiple retail media solutions into a single user interface as well as the requirement to support various hardware platforms and operating systems including Linux, Android, and Windows,” says Codigo’s CEO

According to Codigo, this release relieves a major pain point for financial marketers, particularly the time and effort required to manage a plethora of platforms and multiple software applications.

“There are many systems that individually accomplish one specific task,” said Nutt. “What separates Codigo is the consolidation of these different technologies. No longer is it required to login to separate systems to run a Windows appliance rather than an Android or Linux player. We want people to just log in and go.”

Codigo has also added two new micro-sized hardware appliances powered by both operating systems. “The Codigo Droid and Windows appliances are no larger than your average coaster,” said Nutt. “Reducing the hardware footprint has drastically cut down on the cost of installing our products.”

Additionally, Codigo’s software supports multiple file formats across both operating systems, eliminating any bottlenecks with mixed OS networks.

Codigo’s new digital signage product includes a fully integrated, web-based content editor. The editor allows users robust graphic design control often desired by digital signage users — but not commonly available. The tool allows a user to completely customize files from Codigo’s massive “Content Vault,” providing creative control over everything from simple text edits to in-depth layout changes for backgrounds, images and positioning.

“Content creation can be very expensive and time consuming,” says Codigo’s VP of Media, “Our HTML5 editor is so simple, most people don’t even need help to get started, much less training or tutorials.”

Other highlighted features of Codigo’s software includes power control for monitors, customizable 24/7 notifications for complete network management, and user-defined, data-driven content such as social media, rate boards, menu boards and meeting schedules.
